The Banff FPSO is located approximately 200 miles east of Aberdeen in the Central North Sea, blocks 22/27a and 29/21. The field is operated by CNR International.

Katoni’s role in supporting Teekay

We supported Teekay by providing engineering, procurement and construction services to develop and install a solution to replace exiting temporary H₂S Scavenger pumps with a permanent pump and ancillaries with enhanced pumping capacity.

Collaboration in action

Understanding Teekay’s needs - Teekay approached Katoni to design a solution for the replacement of H₂S scavenger pumps integrated with existing motor and upgrade to electrical motor control centre.

Delivery – Katoni carried out all engineering work including provision of engineering deliverables and installation workpack, vendor screening and liaison, procurement of the pump and ancillary equipment, 3D modelling of the solution and installation of the new equipment on the FPSO.

The Katoni Way – An alternative and improved design solution to that initially proposed by the client was developed which saved the client time and money. Katoni’s solution involved locating the new pumps at a different angle to avoid installation of a step which would have blocked a walkway. The solution was verified using 3D modelling.
