A heartfelt thank you to all who attended our first-ever Katoni Awards & Supplier Event, held on Thursday, 5th September at Pittodrie Stadium. It was a fantastic afternoon where we had the privilege of hosting and engaging with many of our valued suppliers, whilst raising over £3000 for the Aberdeen FC Community Trust.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for our suppliers to showcase their capabilities and gave Katoni employees the chance to meet both long-standing and new suppliers face-to-face. Throughout the event, suppliers had the opportunity for 1-2-1 sit-down conversations with key members of our team, ensuring they could promote their service offerings to the right people and discuss project requirements. Suppliers were also invited to take a small exhibition space, providing them with a platform to highlight their offerings in a more hands-on and interactive way. This provided a valuable chance to cover ground, make the most of the event, and strengthen relationships.
The afternoon kicked off with a welcome and introduction from our CEO, James Bream, followed by insightful presentations from our Procurement and Supply Chain Manager, Laura Marshall and our Head of Engineering, Duncan Brown. These presentations offered an overview of current and upcoming projects, while also outlining Katoni’s expectations regarding standards, delivery, and communication.
A fun addition to the event was our "Challenge Katoni" activities. These included the Longest Putt challenge and the Paper Airplane Throw challenge, where participants made their own paper airplanes and launched them from the upper tier of the Richard Donald Stand to see whose could achieve the greatest distance. The highlight of the challenge was when one guest (you know who you are) decided that this was the perfect opportunity to test the limits of their screen protector and throw their phone, along with their paper airplane. It was a brave move that, whether or not it was part of a clever strategy to divert attention from the modest distance their paper airplane travelled, earned them a win in our eyes!
The night concluded with the Katoni Awards. As well as our annual awards for members of the Katoni team, this year we decided to extend our recognition to include our valued partners within the supply chain. Congratulations to our award winners:
The event was not just about awards or competition but about building stronger relationships, understanding our suppliers' capabilities, and exploring how we can better support one another to continue delivering excellence to our customers – The Katoni Way.
Once again, a big thank you to everyone who attended and made the event a success.
