About the Asset

The Banff FPSO is located approximately 200 miles east of Aberdeen in the Central North Sea, blocks 22/27a and 29/21. The field is operated by CNR International.

Katoni’s role in supporting Teekay

We supported Teekay on this asset in 2018 and this commission was to replace a deficient hazardous area starter panel.

Collaboration in action

Understanding Teekay’s needs - We were approached to survey a starter panel which was a concern due to potential non-compliance with certification requirements. The work was undertaken at short notice, we undertook survey work with one of our skilled offshore staff while in-situ on the asset undertaking a separate piece of work.

Delivery – As part of the commission we undertook an offshore survey, reviewed original drawings and updated these to generate a quotation for a replacement panel. We managed requests for quotation, procurement and delivery for offshore installation.

The Katoni Way – We short cut the timeline for survey by using existing offshore staff from Katoni, we undertook design work but helped our client cut timelines by initiating RFQ’s, procurement and delivery all within a fixed fee.
