Katoni’s role in supporting our client

Katoni Engineering has recently successfully completed a Power System Analysis study for a client for one of their Northern North Sea assets.

Two new wells are being tied-back to the platform which involves new Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs) supplied from refurbished existing Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) at 11kV and 3.3kV. Our experienced Electrical team studied the effects this would have on the platform’s existing electrical power system.

Collaboration in action

This study involved developing a software model of the electrical network which wasused to perform power system studies including load flow analysis, fault level calculations, protection settings reviews, motor starting assessments and harmonic analysis. This was completed at a fixed cost price within a demanding schedule resulting in a very satisfied client.
