The Petrojarl Foinaven is located in the harsh water environment in the West of Shetland. Our client Teekay is the asset owner providing a critical service to the field operator BP.
Katoni’s role in supporting Foinaven
We began supporting the Foinaven vessel in 2016 and have delivered a wide range of facilities and structural modifications including:
All of these have been delivered on time and on budget. In 2017 we were approached to support the delivery of the planned Turnaround activities in partnership with Teekay and BP.
Understanding Teekay’s needs - Early involvement and collaboration was key to the success of the 2017 TAR. At the outset of the programme of works included a potential of over 350 work packages. Katoni’s initial action was to work with Teekay and BP to prioritise and rationalise the TAR scope to a scale that addressed the critical scopes and could be achieved within the planned outage schedule.
Delivery – The scope of work included the establishment of a dedicated TAR team including multidiscipline engineering & design and project services resources. Initiation scope rationalisation resulted in the definition of the planned TAR scope, and the necessary deliverables including work packages, fabrications, materials and vendors necessary to execute during the outage. Katoni also provided offshore supervision (OCS) and technicians and trades to support the offshore execution.
Delivery – Fast Track response to clients TAR needs, using the core TK assigned technical team supported by additional resources. Effective and efficient delivery of 246 TAR work packages including all certification and handover documentation. Fabrications & Materials procurement & delivery, and offshore OCS and disciplines supporting execution.
