In partnership with Katoni Engineering, the highly regarded event returns for a sixth year offering the best young players in Scotland the opportunity to display their technical and creative ability in a competitive environment.

The competition will see teams from U12’s (2012) compete to win the Katoni Cup with a format which combines traditional five-a-side rules with Futsal. The tournament continues to attract teams from the top Youth Academies in Scotland, with the 2024 edition featuring Celtic, Dundee, Hamilton Accies, Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Ross County, and Rangers.

As ever, a fun filled afternoon is promised with music between matches to provide added atmosphere, individual player awards and the opportunity for fans to come along and cheer on some of the best young talent.

CEO at Katoni Engineering James Bream said: “We are delighted to see the return of The Katoni Cup and proud to have played a part in helping to build such a successful tournament.

“The tournament continues to give us an opportunity to support the development of young people in the Northeast, as we do through apprentice programmes at Katoni. The youngest of the Katoni Cup participants from six years ago are now in the Under 18s and we are so pleased to have played a small part in their journey.

“The event will no doubt be fun filled, competition will be fierce, and the fans will have lots to cheer about as they watch the stars of the future this weekend. Perhaps most importantly it will be fantastic to see our talented youngsters representing our city at such a high-quality football event.”

The tournament continues to go form strength, to strength and AFC Youth Phase Manager, Liam McGarry, is looking forward to seeing another batch of talented youngsters in action at the showcase event on Saturday.

He said: “As a club we are very proud to see the return of the Katoni Cup for a sixth year.

“The stature of the event continues to grow, and it is testament to the standard of the tournament that we continue to attract the top teams in the Scotland to Aberdeen for what is now seen as areal platform for showcasing young talent.

“Katoni have been extremely generous supporters of the tournament, and we continue to be grateful for their desire and commitment to drive this event on, helping to encourage best practice in young player development.”
