We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer looking to take the next step in their management career. This role reports directly to our Head of Engineering and will be responsible for the output of the team, both commercially and technically.
Key Responsibilities:
• Specifically responsible for:
• The safe, cost effective and timely execution of structural engineering design activities on Brownfield and Consultancy projects
• The commercial and technical performance of the entire structural engineering team
• Recruitment within the structural team
• Responsible for design, vendor selection and the outsourcing of fabrication of secondary and tertiary structural deliverables for multi and single discipline projects.
• Assist production of cost estimates and schedules
• Develop Scope of Work and Basis of Design documents as required to match project and client requirements; provide proof by calculation as required; ensure the design criteria are met with reference to the relevant codes & standards
• Assist business development effort by engaging with clients and potential clients to generate leads and enquiries
• Assist in risk assessments and HAZIDS/HAZOP studies as required by the project(s)
• Design and/or Engineering Technical Authority
• Providing supervision, mentoring and continuing professional development support to less experienced engineers;
• Preparation and delivery of periodical reviews for new personnel
• Ability to perform theoretical analyses and calculations
• Ability to design structural assemblies and supports
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills through written and verbal communications
Qualifications / requirements:
• Degree Qualified in a relevant engineering subject
• Chartered with a relevant institution
• Brownfield experience in the offshore sector.
• Technical competence in Concept, Select, Define and Execute project phases
• Competence in the use of relevant engineering analysis and calculation software (e.g. STAAD.Pro, Mathcad, and any other relevant packages.)
